I am having problems with my blood pressure and my weight since I was 18 years old. Once, It got so bad, that I was scared to death. Since then, I am trying to eat healthier food and to take care of myself. I read about how important is the food that we eat and how it is effecting our body.This book is like a life saver to me! It consists of 68 recipes which is giving me freedom to choose what to eat. There is a lot of variety for every taste. The book becomes to be my manual and I definitely feel better now. I tried almost the half of the recipes in the book and they are all delicious. The other thing I love about this book is that the recipes are not only delicious and healthy but they are very quick and easy to be made.I recommend!
I am big on healthy, mindful cooking, and this book has been a great companion. It has been helpful in creating dishes which are easy on the heart and blood pressure, be it for full-fledged meals or snacks and dessert. I’ve also learnt technique of cooking ingredients new to me like Quinoa, Squash and Halibut. My favourites are the desserts like Berry Popsicles and Pumpkin Cookies. I eat them guilt free! I have tried about 20-25 of these recipes, and I now all the courses I cook are delicious and healthy, because they are either baked, sautéed or grilled.
I love the fact that I don't have to read through so many nutritional facts on recipes that I want to fix that will be approved by my heart doctor for my current condition. Nancy Kelsy has put these recipes together in a way that I know that I can have any of the 68 she has listed in this book. She has made it very easy to quick to find the recipe you want whether for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I have cut down the time it takes to prepare my meals because of Nancy's book.
The recipes in this book are wonderful! The author has done a wonderful job making the instructions very clear and easy to follow for each recipe listed inside of the book. My fiance has had high blood pressure recently and the doctor recommended us to start the "dash diet." I am so happy we got this book! We love everything we have made so far. The chicken and rice stuffed tomatoes from the book were delicious! I can't wait to make more of the great recipes!
As I am not on my hypertension medications (because of allergies), I am always looking for easy, quick and fun recipes to maintain my Dash Diet. I have already found and tried the baked oatmeal recipe that I found in this book. It was so easy to prepare, and very delicious, my husband enjoyed as well. I am excited to try the other recipes, I will be preparing a different one day.
Both my inlaws have serious blood pressure issues and as a family member it used te who concern me. I read this book and now I call them up everyday and read them a recipe . and these recipies work.There blood pressure levels have become constant and close to normal.They do take medications though.Its not just for people with blood pressure issues...it for everyone.Try it..:)
This book has more recipes than you can handle! It also comes with a crazy bonus of 38 additional cook books which I don't know how is possible. If you're new to the Dash Diet or just trying to spice things up with some new recipes this book is for you!
Easy to follow recipes with detailed instructions. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, deserts – you have it all here. The only thing missing are pictures of meals to be prepared, but after you prepare your food, you don’t need any pictures. Good recipe book overall.
