The art is nice but this is basically a flashcard book that just has single words on each page that relate to Celia Cruz, but if you don't know her life story it won't be helpful. This book does not really teach the life of Celia, there is a short bio on the back of the book but that is all. I returned this product.
I love the beautiful pictures and bright colors. It’s based on Celia things like “island†, “azúcar†“cantante†so for a small child they can be sorta random versus having a consistency when it’s numbers or colors but nonetheless my kids love to flip through them because they are beautifully books.
I've purchased four books of this series (Lucha libre, Frida, Celia and Guadalupe). This is the only one of the four that has a short description of the story on the back of the book. It makes it much easier to tell the story to my daughter. For some of the other books I find myself trying to guess what's the relevance of a certain image.
The contents of the book are great, but the exterior of the front cover of the book when received had light but very noticeable black pen marks near Celia's face, no bueno, not happy at all with that. I know it didn't happen during shipping so it must have happened during packing, someone should be double checking on the look of the front & back covers.
Very disappointed in this book. It is just a picture book with the words in English and Spanish. It doesn’t tell any story.
I was really excited to get this book for my daughter, seeing as she is Cuban. I was so disappointed when I looked inside. There is no little story or facts depicting her life as the title insinuates. We also ordered the Selena book from this series and it was done beautifully. But it makes the Celia book look even worse in comparison.
Love these series of English / Spanish books from Lil Libros. I have purchased all the books for my daughter and even a Lil Libros print / poster. I am happy with both the content and the quality. Thanks.
For the price I'd expect more than a word or two per page. Had to return it.
